Question 1:
· Provide a description of a
o Design vehicle
o Critical vehicle
· In what respect does a design vehicle differ from a critical vehicle.
Question 2:
What are the legal dimensions and axle weights/loads as allowed by the Wash. State Dept of Transportation (WADOT). The information should include allowable axle spacing, weights, etc. If you have a specific web site, provide the link to it.

Show the allowable GVW and payload of a standard log truck (5 axles) and for a log truck with drop axle based on WADOT. Provide some brand-name examples with corresponding specifications such as dimensions, axle weights.
Question 4:
Provide three examples of “critical vehicles” in the context of forest roads (roads not subject to the Public Highways Act). For those examples provide specific data. The information should include (but not be limited to)

A CAT 345B-VG excavator has to be moved over public highways to reach a work site. Show specific lowboy configuration required (axle load, spacing, etc). Provide a specific lowboy (brand name with picture and schematic), showing or indicating what the axle configurations are and the resulting axle loads.
